The problem
In class, students are taught persuasive techniques, rhetorical questions, emotive language, evidence, but often, no-one shows them how to actually apply it all to build one convincing argument.
The holidays
The school holidays are the space to practice building real arguments, with evidence, before the next assignment is due.

Essays that actually convince, and a student who can hold their own in an argument.
Overview
- Moves students from a bare opinion to a real, structured argument
- Teaches how to back a position with the right kind of evidence
- Builds paragraphs that develop the argument, rather than repeating it
What your child will learn
- Choosing and holding a clear position across the whole piece
- Building paragraphs around a claim, evidence and explanation
- Using persuasive techniques (rhetorical questions, emotive language, expert opinion) with control, not by accident
- Writing a conclusion that reinforces the argument rather than just restating the introduction

Our clinic is directly opposite North Strathfield station on the T9 Northern Line.
On street parking is available on Queen Street and Waratah Street, and it’s a short walk from the Concord Road bus stops (routes 410 and 458).
