Description

At around 48-54 months of age, typically developing children begin to associate things that go together by function. Some people – including people with language and/or learning disorders have difficulty doing this easily.

This 36-page pack is designed to help – with over 30 scaffolded examples to work through. For each item, the person is given six choices of things that go with it: one correct answer, and five distractors. With both written words and pictures, this resource is designed to be used with people who have difficulty with semantic associations.

Once people have mastered these examples, step up the difficulty level by having the person explain “why” the things go together the best, giving students the opportunity to improve their expressive semantic skills, stimulate their use of high frequency verbs, and to link their ideas together – important skills for lifelong learning.
